Formed in June of 1926, the Brockport Kiwanis Club is very proud of the traditions we have developed while serving our community for over 80 years. These traditions are carried on today in our many community and service projects. Our club's focus is on helping the children of Brockport and giving back to our Community. As part of Kiwanis International, we are also able to help children and change lives around the world.

We have approximately 25 members in our club. Membership is open, by invitation, to men and women interested in contributing their time and energy to community service through the Kiwanis Club. Come join us for good fellowship, good speakers and good food at any of our weekly meetings. We have lunch meetings the 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th Wednesdays of every month and a dinner meeting on the 3rd Wednesday. Visit our meetings page for times and locations.

Our Club Activities

The Brockport Kiwanis Club is very active. As a service organization, most of our activities involve some form of community service, either working directly in the community or raising money to support community functions and meet specific needs. Most of our fund raising activities include a community service component.

As we work to enhance the quality of life for specific individuals in need, for our community as a whole and for children around the world we have a lot of fun and good fellowship. We enjoy the blessings of personal satisfaction and sense of accomplishment that comes from helping our fellow man. We realize that working together as a group we accomplish much more than we would individually.

Our club engages in numerous community activities throughout the year. Among other activities, We:

  • Sponsor a "Read Around the World" Design-a-Bookmark Contest with Seymour Library - new in 2008!
  • Participate in and help fund the Max's Mardi Gras Festival.
  • Work a food booth at the BISCO Summer Arts Festival.
  • Field a team in the Lakeside Foundation Bed Race - new since 2006!
  • Host a 2 day Soap Box Derby Rally in Brockport - new since 2006!
  • Sponsor a Soap Box Derby car with a local driver - new in 2007!
  • Host a Bowling Tournament at Brockport Bowl - new in 2008!
  • Host a 2 weekend Mystery Theater each Fall.
  • Sponsor a Kiwanis Key Club at Brockport H.S.

  • Maintain an "Adopt-a-Highway" section of Route 19 south of Brockport.
  • Donate hundreds of toys every year to "Toys for Tots".
  • Raise over $1000 a year for the Salvation Army by ringing the bell in December.

Additionally, we provide financial support for many events and projects sponsored by local youth groups and residents. The Club is always looking to engage in new and different activities to help provide for a better local community.

Our two major fund raisers are the annual Coupon and Advertising Book project each summer and the Holiday Craft Fair in December. Please click on the links for further information on either of them.

We hope you will enjoy your journey through the different aspects of our club as you tour our site.
